Rocky Mountain National Park has 355 miles of hiking trails, and Afield Trails covers every one of them with stories on plants, wildlife, and history.

The app is filled with detailed offline content to deepen your appreciation of the things you see as your hiking.
— 70 species of wildflowers
— Detailed information on the trees and ecosystems you encounter
— Major wildlife you might encounter, with tips for finding them.
— History and geologic features

Everything functions offline, without a phone signal, and is meant to be taken with you on your visit.

— Navigate to where you want to hike from any trailhead to 98 different hiking destinations.
— Get your custom route dynamically rated for exposure (bring sunscreen), access to water, and aspen viewing
— Quickly get driving directions to the trailhead (uses your mapping app)
— Up-to-date NPS park alerts will keep you informed about closures or other important news

The seasonally aware app responds to changes in seasons so the information presented to you is up-to-date and accurate. For example, the wildflower guide indicates which flowers are expected to be blooming in the area you are hiking.

Content and maps update in the background allowing you to enjoy your surroundings, but quickly access interpretive or location-based content as desired.

All of our information has been updated for the summer of 2018, including park fees, trail changes, and our park-in-one-day recommendations. Watch for our seasonal suggestions, such as for wildflower and aspen viewing.

Notes on permissions:
